Pay Television Company Startimes is gearing up to broadcast the highly-anticipated Bundesliga showdown set to take place this weekend.
Football enthusiasts are in for a treat as Borussia Dortmund (BVB) prepares to clash with Sporting Club Freiburg (SC Freiburg) on Saturday, the 16th of September.
The action will unfold on World Football channel 254/245, with the kick-off scheduled for 4:30 PM Kenyan time at the Europa-Park Stadion.
Mike Mwai, Startimes Communication Director, said Football enthusiasts can look forward to witnessing this intriguing battle as Borussia Dortmund and SC Freiburg vie for supremacy in what promises to be a captivating Bundesliga encounter.
“Startimes’ coverage ensures that fans won’t miss a moment of the action as these two formidable teams lock horns on the pitch,” he said.
The Black and Yellows have had a mixed start to their 23/24 Bundesliga campaign, drawing their opening two matches against VfL Bochum and Heidenheim.
As a result, they currently find themselves trailing Bayern Munich by four points in the early-season standings.
With the Bundesliga landscape evolving rapidly and formidable competitors such as Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, and Union Berlin bolstering their squads during the transfer window, Borussia Dortmund should cast their gaze beyond Bayern Munich.
Borussia Dortmund’s star-studded squad, including the likes of Erling Haaland (in the past), Marco Reus, and Jude Bellingham (in the past), has previously had the potential to propel them to the top of the Bundesliga table.
However, SC Freiburg should not be underestimated. With their passionate fan base backing them, Freiburg will be determined to secure a positive result against the historically-illustrious Borussia Dortmund.
As a prelude to their season-long Bundesliga assignment, Borussia Dortmund faces another challenging fixture in the UEFA Champions League. They will travel to France to take on Paris Saint-Germain in the first group stage match on Tuesday.
In another thrilling matchup over the weekend, Al Nassr is poised to secure the top spot in the Saudi Pro League as they take on Al Raed at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium on the same day at 6:00 PM.
The return of Cristiano Ronaldo, following an early exit from international duty due to suspension, is a significant boost for Al Nassr, a club based in Riyadh.
Another critical development is the return of David Ospina, the former Napoli shot-stopper, who had sustained a serious right elbow fracture during a goalless draw against Al Shabab in January 2023.
Ospina’s remarkable comeback, after surgery and accelerated recovery in Spain, has fortified Al Nassr’s defense.
Last season, he conceded a league-low six goals, with only Al Shabab’s Kim Seung-gyu surpassing his clean sheet record.
