Prominent political leaders across the political divide in Nairobi have come out to congratulate former Football Kenya Federation Nairobi NEC Member Michael Ouma Majua after he won in the ODM party nominations in Kariobangi North ward.
Ouma, popularly known as Chair, clinched the ODM ticket for the seat during the nomination exercise that were conducted on Saturday 27th September.
The leaders who congratulated Ouma vowed to support his campaigns to ensure he bags victory in the upcoming by elections that is slated to be held on November 27th, 2025.
The top Nairobi leaders back Ouma after the ODM primary win pledged support noting that his grassroots connection with the people of Kariobangi will help him offer quality leadership to the electorate of the ward and Nairobi county as a whole.
Former Makadara Member of Parliament and Kenya Professional Boxing Commission President Reuben Ndolo was among the leaders who praised Ouma after the win and pledged solidarity.
“As a fellow sports administrator and leader in the community, I have seen Ouma work with dedication and in deed his wining the MCA seat in Kariobangi North will be a very wise choice from the people of Kariobangi,” Ndolo said.
Hamisi Maleya, the Kangemi ward MCA and former FKF Nairobi branch treasurer also showered praise on Ouma noting that he had witnessed first hand the immense leadership abilities in the ODM candidate and rooted for his win come the November by elections.
Harambee ward MCA Antony Kimemia was not left behind as he said; it is time for Kariobangi North to make the right choice and Ouma Majua is that choice. We shall support his campaign until he wins the election.” Kimemia said.
Absalom Odhiambo aka Matakweyi who is the MCA in the neighboring Korogocho ward said; “Kariobangi North and Korogocho are neighbor. We share a lot and first I congratulate Ouma for winning the party primaries. We shall support Ouma to the last minute and ensure that ODM wins the Kariobangi North Seat,” he said.
Former Nominated Senator and former Mountain View MCA Beatrice Kwamboka congratulated Ouma for conducting a rigorous and successful campaign which saw him emerge victorious. “Th campaigns were rigorous but Ouma was tough and he is the best candidate who has a passion for Kariobangi North have in been born there and represented the area as a councilor. All our support is on his campaign,” Kwamboka said.
Other leaders who praised Ouma include Hon Dabar AhmedQadar Kado the MCA for Eastleigh North who also served in the FKF NationalmExecutive Committee with Ouma. Dabar said that he has confidence Ouma will bring valuable contributions to the Nairobi County Assembly and vowed to support his candidature.
“I have known Oush Chair for long we served in the FKF NEC together and I know he is a great leader who will bring a lot of contribution not only to the people of Kariobangi but also th the assembly,” Dabar noted.
Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai took to his social media accounts to congratulate Ouma for the win. “Congratulations Michael Ouma in Kariobangi North,” Alai wrote.
The Nairobi County Assembly deputy majority chief whip Hon Stazo Omung’ala who is also the MCA from Upper Savannah Ward promised to do all it takes to ensure Ouma wins the upcoming by elections. “The ODM Candidate Ouma Majua will win this election. We are going to leave no one behind. We must ensure we secure the victory,” Stazo offered.
The speaker of the Nairobi County Assembly Ken Ng’ondi too congratulated Ouma and called on the ODM supporters to rally behind him to ensure he wins the upcoming by election. The sentiments were echoed by the Nairobi City County Assembly Majority Chief Whip Moses Ogeto the MCA representing Kilimani Ward among other MCAs in Nairobi drawn from across the political divide.
