163 Million Shillings Realisedin aid of Madrasas in Mandera at Fundraiser Graced by President Ruto

Over Ksh. 163 million was raised at a fundraiser held on Saturday, 20th September 2025, in support of the Eltabashi Educational Trust, an initiative aimed at funding ten Madrasas in Mandera County. The event, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Nairobi, was attended by President William Ruto, alongside leaders from the political and business sectors. The president emphasized that Kenya’s progress is closely tied to how well children can access education. He noted that ensuring every child has a chance to learn leads to a more equal, empowered, and prosperous society. The fundraiser, which was organized in support of Islamic institutions in Mandera County, highlighted the leaders’ shared commitment to strengthening education as the foundation of opportunity and development. “We applaud the Eltabashi Educational Trust for its dedication to helping vulnerable children in Northern Kenya gain access to education,” the President said. Mandera Governor Mohamed Adan, while addressing the gathering, expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support. He confirmed that a total of Sh163,218,000 had been raised, which will go towards supporting ten Madrasas in the county. “We thank Almighty Allah (SWT) for enabling us to raise these funds. Thank you, William Ruto, for your generous support,” he added. The high-profile event drew a wide range of leaders, including Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, Governors Ahmed Abdullahi and Nathif Adam, Senator Ali Roba, and Members of Parliament from Mandera, Garissa, and Wajir counties. Also present were Principal Secretaries, heads of state corporations, religious leaders, representatives from the business community, women, and youth groups Also among the notable contributors was Mustafa Brown, CEO of Browncop Security Limited and a close associate of George Ruto. Brown, who recently held a high-profile wedding attended by George Ruto, pledged Ksh. 1.2 million to the cause. His contribution drew attention within the room, highlighting his growing presence in corporate and philanthropic circles. Brown has increasingly positioned himself among young entrepreneurs making visible contributions in both business and social initiatives.
