NYAMIRA REFERRAL HOSPITAL RECEIVES NEW EQUIPMENT

Nyamira County government has procured hospital assorted equipment aimed at improving provisions of health services to the people.

The equipment which include state- of – the – art maternity beds, bed sheets, ordinary beds, patients uniforms and wheelchairs were delivered on September 2, 2025 to various wards at the Nyamira County Referral Hospital after being received by CECM for Health Dr Donald Mogoi on behalf of Governor Amos Nyaribo.

In a speech read by Dr Mogoi, the Governor said his Administration has also sunk a borehole, therefore, providing clean water for drinking and other uses at the facility, effectively ending perennial shortages.

He said high-tech delivery beds will help reduce maternal and infant mortality.

“Among these, one is a hydraulic bed and three are electrical beds. This modern equipment is designed to provide better support for our mothers during delivery, reduce the physical strain on our healthcare providers, and ultimately make childbirth safer and more comfortable in our facility,” the Governor said.

He added: “My Administration remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that you, the great residents of this county, have access to quality, dignified, and efficient healthcare services.”

Governor Nyaribo said his Administration is committed to improving patients’ dignity and care, adding that he understands that a clean and safe environment is crucial for healing.

Among the consignments delivered were 1,200 blankets, 1,500 uniforms and 1,500 bedsheets.

The uniforms were color-coded, according to the inpatient wards for easier monitoring of patients.

“This is not just about aesthetics; it is a critical tool for improving hospital efficiency, making it easier for our staff and patients to navigate the wards, and enhancing the overall management of our patient care,” the Governor said.

The hospital also received 150 new general ward beds to address congestion and improve patient comfort.

“This additional beds will significantly increase patients admissions and ensure they recover in a more comfortable and less crowded environment,” Governor Nyaribo noted.

These investments, the Governor noted, is a clear testament of his commitment to transforming Nyamira County Referral Hospital into a centre of excellence that everyone is proud of.

“We are investing not just in infrastructure and equipment, but in the dignity, health, and well-being of every single resident,” he said.
