Transport CS Davis Chirchir is expected to revoke several appointments at the Kenya Ports Authority ( KPA) board as the ministry embarks on several changes to streamline operations in all state corporations under it.

The KPA board could be the first to experience the changes with sources indicating that some of the members linked to graft cases by investigative agencies likely to face the chop.

The writer is privy to information that Consola Lusweti who sits on the board could be the first casualty while the fate of young Caroline Njoki, alias Njoki wa Mathira hangs in the balance.

Consolata who harbors political ambitions is likely to be sacrificed but could be appointed to a new role within government if her name is cleared.

Both Consolata and Njoki were appointed to the board by immediate former Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen through a gazette notice dated January 20,2023.

Other members include Musa Osman, Emmanuel Kibet, and Lucas Maitha. Before their appointment,Murkomen had to revoke appointment of five previous board members who served under the previous Jubilee regime.

Both Consolata and Njoki are well known to President Ruto with Njoki enjoying a close relationship with Chirlene Ruto who is the president’s daughter.

Consolata hails from Mumias in Kakamega with sources indicating that she is planning to contest the Woman Representative Seat in the county.Futher unconfirmed reports indicate Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi is poised to suggest a new name for appointment.

Njoki’s fate on the other hand could be attributed to the fact that she got the job courtesy of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who is now being haunted out of government through impeachment.

Meanwhile internal battled within the board pitting KPA Managing Director Captain William Ruto may have fueled the planned changes even as corruption allegations continue emanating from the state agency
