The Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) giants AFC Leopards Chairman of Chairmen (CoC) Franklyne ‘Kuka’ Imbenzi has led thousands of AFC Leopards fans in welcoming the support of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for the club.

In an interview, Imbenzi said that fans of Ingwe were happy to receive news that among the millions of Ingwe fans, DP Gachagua was one of them and urged them to keep steadfast support for the club in its pursuit for glory.

Imbenzi, who is also the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission Secretary General, said that with AFC Leopards boasting of the largest membership in the country, estimated at 6 million members, the support of the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for the club offers an opportunity for fans to cone together and as they support their loved club, also form a conglomerate support system that will benefit the club as well as it’s wide fan base.

“We are very happy that the deputy president is a supporter of our club. We want to assure DP Gachagua that he is supporting the best team and the success he is hungering for in terms of silverware is coming very soon,” Imbenzi said.

“AFC Leopards has the largest membership in the Kenyan Premier League, pegged at over 6 million members as well as other more than 10 million fans in Kenya and globally and with this numbers, we want to encourage the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua that he is in the right bandwagon,” Imbenzi noted.

Speaking of future plans, the CoC disclosed that AFC Leopards fans will in the near future come together to form a welfare society that will benefit members for them to realise the benefits of being fans of Ingwe.

“We stand at 6 million members which makes AFC Leopards the team with the biggest membership in the Kenyan Premier league and we want to use those numbers to create something that the fans can pride in and also benefit them. It is a network that we shall be creating and with DP Gachagua as one of us, we are optimistic that we will go far,” Imbenzi said.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua revealed his admiration and support for AFC Leopards saying that he has been supporting Ingwe for nearly four decades with the love not fading.

Speaking during the Madaraka Day celebrations in Bungoma on Saturday, Gachagua said Leopards and Gor Mahia provided Kenyans with great entertainment and contests in the 1980s before English football took over at the turn of the millennium.
