Nairobi County Assembly has been warned against clearing the name of Halkano Waqo who was recently vetted for the planning docket.
According to sources, Waqo who served under Sonko and Kananu regime was allegedly the man behind looting in the county, under his tenure he was arrested for stealing 80 million shillings meant for food program.
The program was initiated through major general Mohammed Badi but Halkano through conspicuous means reportedly diverted the money to his dealings.
The matter is still active at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
“He is not fit Halkano is corrupt and was part of looting spree that was initiated by Guyo and his team at the county,’’ a source within planning committee told the media.
It has also emerged that Acting County Secretary Patrick Analo, South C MCA Abbas Khalif, Hon Fuad of Eastleigh North are part of persons championing his return in preparation to take over from current chief officer Asha Abdi.
‘‘Asha has failed to heed to Abbas demands, skim is to bring Waqo to fit the bill.lakini tunawaona kwa 18 tutadeal nao proper,’’ the source added.
