The finals of the Sakaja Super Cup Football Tournament are scheduled to played at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday 16th December, 2023.
Sakaja Super Cup Tournament Director Hon. Osman Khalif has called on fans across Nairobi and its environs to turn up in large numbers and support the teams regardless of whether their teams have been bundled out saying that this being the biggest tournament was testament that sports is a unifying factor for the people of Nairobi.
The tournament will have a special award category of the best fan base in a move that is aimed at promoting unity and shun acts of hooliganism.
Osman said the organisers of the tournament have already identified teams who have the best fans in terms of their support to their teams as well as discipline and passion and they are in the process of whiting them down to the final tree who will walk away with money prizes.
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja promised that the best fan base would walk away with prize money with teams with the most decorated and organised fan bases getting 300,000 shillings for the winners, 200,000 for the second placed and 100,000 shillings for the third placed fan bases.
The Sakaja Super Cup kicked off with action bringing light to Nairobi grounds as teams battle it out for their chance to advance in group stages.
Winners of the tournament sponsored by the Sakaja Foundation in partnership with the Nairobi City County government and Football Kenya Federation will win a Ksh 3 Million top prize as the runners up pocket 2 Million shillings. Third place finishers will win Ksh One million. Other weekend results will follow as teams sledge it out for the ultimate prize.
