Nairobi, August 10, 2023 – The Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) conducted its annual conference in Nairobi, bringing together a diverse range of experts, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss the latest advancements in Earth observation and geospatial technology.
The four-day event, held from August 7th to August 10th, showcased cutting-edge research and applications in the field of geospatial information and remote sensing. Attendees were treated to a series of engaging keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and poster sessions that covered a wide array of topics including disaster management, environmental monitoring, urban planning, agriculture, and climate change.
One of the highlights of the conference was the unveiling of a new satellite imaging system by RCMRD. This system boasts higher resolution and improved accuracy, allowing for more detailed and precise mapping of land resources, urban development, and environmental changes. The technology has the potential to revolutionize disaster response and natural resource management across the region.
