The Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) upset Zoo Kericho as the Homabay side raided Kericho green stadium in a Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Division One Zone B to beat the hosts 2-1 in the round of 25 match played yesterday, Sunday 28th May, 2023.
The home side opened the scoring early infront of their fans when Ggolola Sammy sloted in the first goal in the 6th minute and held on to the lead.
Looking all set to cllect the three points, Zoo crumbled in the second half as a resurgent MOFA came back fighting.
George Odhiambo pulled one back in the 70th minute before Dalphine Omuri added a second goal in the 84th minute to seal the win.
The match saw a commotion at 60th minute between both team officials. Home team didn’t manage to control their fans, then after the match home team fans attempted to attack the referee blaming him for the loss.
The Home teams fans also attempted to intimidate MOFA as they conspired to deny the visiting team the opportunity to record the match proceedings for analysis, something that is allowed and necessary in modern football.
