KEBS Managing Director Benard Njiraini Dubious Deals Exposed

Trouble is slowly brewing at Kenya National Bureau of standards (KEBS) after it emerged that the managing director Benard Njiraini was using all means for survival.

A source from the Parliament Trade committee has revealed to this publication that Njiraini has been using taxpayers money to hire for Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria choppers and jets for his movements as a way of trying to entice the government.

The MP who requested for anonymity says that Njiraini has amassed alot of wealth because of fraudulent deals at KEBS to a point that he is worried about his job.

Part of the deal is that Njiraini has gotten millions from companies bringing in counterfeit goods.

“Njiraini is a worried man. He seems quiet but he is one of the most corrupt CEOs we have. If you hear of any counterfeit just know it’s him who allowed it. To protect his job Njiraini is now enticing Kuria by paying all his chopper movements,” he said.

The source revealed that Njiraini is also collecting millions money that he intends to use to bribe who is who in the government.

“Our President should now address this. Kuria si quite because he is benefiting,” said the source.

Njiraini is not new to controversy, in 2020 he was on the spot after he was hired for the current despite not meeting the requirements.

He had been ranked sixth after interview.

Documents tabled before the National Assembly Trade and Industry Committee indicate that the current Kebs MD, Mr Bernard Njiraini, emerged sixth in interviews conducted by the National Standards Council between August 19 and August 20, 2019.

According to the report, Mr Geoffrey Karau emerged the best candidate with 76 per cent followed by Mr Nixon Sigei, who scored 74 per cent, and Mr Martin Chesire emerged third with 72 per cent.

This publication will reveal companies that Njiraini has been working with closely for bribes.
